First, the hand that did it. I had a poker of different suits. My sole opponent in this hand (incidentally, the player that ended up winning first in the tournament) had a Jack-Nine suited. The flop showed both a Queen and a Jack. In first position in poker, I made a sizable but not show-stopping bet. My opponent called. The turn showed another Jack. I went all-in. My opponent called me, and the river didn't help either of us. I was eliminated from the poker tournament.
The luck factor cannot be eliminated from any game of dice or cards, it can only be minimized in poker. If bad luck were the reason I was eliminated, I might have slept better that night. However, I could come up with way too many reasons why I misplayed that poker hand and caused myself to be eliminated.
