2 to 10 players can play Texas Hold ‘Em games. All of the players are dealt 2 cards face down called the “hole cards”. These cards should not be revealed to other Texas Hold ‘Em players.
The objective of Texas Hold ‘Em game to win is to form the best five hand card from the “hole cards” together with the five community cards dealt by the dealer. Community cards means cards that can be used by any other player.
Texas Hold ‘Em is started out by dealing the “hole cards”. There is also a small and big blind involved in the Texas Hold ‘Em game. These are mandetory bets that are put to use for the pot.
For example, the game is a $6-12 Texas Hold ‘Em game. One person must put $6 in the pot for the small blind and another puts $12 in as the big blind. After one game is finished, the people who post the small and big blind shifts one player clockwise. Blinds are used so that if all but one person folds, that person can still receive some money.
After the hole cards are dealt, there will be a round of betting. Players during this round of betting could call, raise or fold. Call means that a player agrees with the previous player bets and still wants to play. Raise means that a person raises the bet money. While fold means that the player has given up.
The first community card that is dealt is actually 3 cards. These 3 cards are called the “flop”. After a round of betting, the remaining players get to play another round. The 4th community card is then dealt called the “turn”. Another round of betting and the 5th community card called the “river” is then dealt.
If more than one player is remaining after the “river” has been dealt and another round of betting, the players will then compare their hands to see who has the better 5 card hand formed with the 5 community and/or 2 hole cards.
When you play Texas Hold ‘Em poker the casinos will rake 5% of your winnings. Meaning if you win $100, you will only have $95. This is because the casinos need to have some money too from the game of Texas Hold ‘Em.
